This case study applies CCD detection to a die-cutting, slitting, and winding integrated machine for producing bare cells of multipole ear power batteries.

The CCD detection system includes defect detection and related dimension detection of pole pieces after die cutting, pole core neatness detection at the winding station, pole ear folding detection on the winding needle, and dimension detection of the center distance between the pole core and pole ear at the cutting station.
Introduction to Testing

Defective workstation CCD detection
After cutting the pole ear, inspect the pole piece, pole ear defects, and related dimensions of the pole ear. Defects in the polarizer, such as dark spots, scratches, bright spots, cracks, and foil leaks. Inspect for damage, missing, folded, uncut abnormalities, height and width of the pole ear, and perforation of the pole piece. Detect cutting size, electrode width, electrode ear material height, positive electrode coating edge and cutting edge distance, etc.
CCD detection of winding neatness
The online detection of the winding CCD for the winding neatness of the two sides (cutting side and die-cutting side) of the battery cells at the winding station includes the winding alignment, which includes the distance between the separator and the negative electrode, the distance between the negative electrode and the positive electrode, etc.
CCD detection of the external dimensions of the core
The appearance dimensions of the cutting station are mainly used to detect the width, height, and ear to ear distance of the battery cells, and automatically pick out defective products.
